Weather for today:
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies along Dhofar coasts and mountains with intermittent drizzle with a chance of isolated rain over desert areas at afternoon and evening. Mainly clear skies over rest of the governorates with chance of convective clouds development and isolated rain, occasionally thundershower, downdrafts and hail over parts of Al Hajar Mountains towards afternoon and evening may advected to cover desert areas of AL Dhahira and AL Dakhiliyah at evening time . Chance of rising dust over deserts and open areas. Chance of late night to early-morning low clouds and fog over parts of the coastal areas of Oman Sea and Arabian Sea.
Winds:
Along the coastal areas of Oman Sea winds will be northeasterly to easterly light to moderate becoming variable light at night, and over rest of the governorates it will be southerly to southeasterly light to moderate and southwesterly fresh along Arabian Sea coasts and desert areas .
Sea State:
Rough along the coastal areas of Arabian Sea with maximum wave height RANGES BETWEEN 3.0 METERS TO 4.0 meters.Moderate along Musandam Governorate coast with maximum wave height of 1.5 meters and slight along the rest of the coasts with maximum wave height of 1.25 meter.
Cautions:
- Thundershowers, downdraft and hail over parts of Al Hajar mountains. - Rough Sea along Arabian Sea coasts. - Rising dust over open areas. - Fog formation along coastal areas of Oman sea and over parts of South AL Sharqiya and AL Wusta Governorates.
Horizontal Visibility:
Good may reduced during thundeshower, fog formation and dust rising.
